Mumbai: Sahil Rai, Maitri Malli bag World Mr & Miss Bunt titles

Mumbai, Dec 23: The youth wing of Buntara Sangha Mumbai celebrated its silver jubilee at Sai Palace Garden, Mira Road (East) here on Saturday December 21 evening with a dazzling Akanksha World - 2013 contest.

Sahil Rai, Mangalore bagged the World Mr Bunt title while Maitri Malli was adjudged World Miss Bunt. Both the winners were adorned with Macoy World crowns.

Sahil Rai is the son of Bellipady Satish and Shobha S Rai. He is a final year student of SDM College, Mangalore. Maitri Malli is the daughter of Madhukar and Vijayalaxmi M Malli. Maitri works as business development manager with Manipal Group.

Akanksha World – 2013 competitions were organized in association with Matrabhoomi Co-operative Society and Charisma Builders Limited, sponsored by Macoy of V K Group.

Several participants from Dubai, Muscat, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Tumkur, Mangalore and other cities of India participated in the competitions. Gaurav P Alva bagged the Mr Bunt runner-up title while Pradeep Shetty came third in men’s division. Prerana Shetty bagged World Miss Bunt runner-up title, while Aniksha Gunapal Shetty bagged the third place in girls' division.

Cash award of Rs 1 lac was presented to the top winners, Rs 50,000 to runner up and Rs 25,000 to third winners, besides crowns, mementoes and citations.

Also, Sujit Shetty was adjudged 'Mr Popular' and Anveeksha Shetty as 'Miss Popular'.

V K Group chairman Karunakar M Shetty inaugurated the silver jubilee celebrations, presided by Buntara Sangh president, chartered accountant Shankar B Shetty.

Bollywood director Manmohan R Shetty, Charisma Builders Limited chairman Sudhir V Shetty, director Lata S Shetty, entrepreneur B Vivek Shetty, Anand Shetty, Sasirekha A Shetty, Bab’s Enterprise chairman Mahesh S Shetty, and Matrabhoomi Co-operative Credit Society chairman Ratnakar Shetty Mundkoor were the guests of honour.

Key organizers Kishore Kumar Kutyar and Premanath Shetty Suratkal, sponsors were felicitated during the programme. TV serial actor Mahesh Shetty, Preetika S Hegde, Shahiri Alva and Rasheema Alva were the jury. Bollywood actor and evicted Bigg Boss 7 contestant Elli Avram added flavor to the celebration.

The youth wing vice-president Ritesh R Shetty, chief secretary Sapna G Shetty, honorary treasurer Vivek V Shetty, joint secretary Prashant S Shetty, joint treasurer Sarita S Shetty, Buntara Sangh vice-president Karnire Vishwanat Shetty, honorary chief secretary chartered accountant Sadashiv B Shetty, honorary treasurer Satish N Shetty, joint secretary Ultoor Mohandas Shetty, joint treasurer Praveen B Shetty, women wing president Lata P Shetty were present at the dais.

Geeta Shetty led the prayers. Ashok Pakkala translated the speech of contestants. The youth wing president Shivaprasad R Shetty welcomed the gathering. Shreya Shetty, Rajan Shetty and Prashant Shetty compered the programme. Sunil S Shetty, Anushree Shetty and Abhishek V Shetty were the choreographers.
