Over 300 fall ill from left over food


Agra Jan 11 (IANS): More than 300 people, including women and children, fell ill after eating left over food distributed as part of the funeral rites of a person in Malpura area near Agra.

The affected persons began lining up at medical cetres from Thursday and many people were admitted to a hospital here Friday after they complained of diarrhoea, nausea and fever, Agra Chief Medical Officer S.C. Yadav said Saturday.

The 13th day funeral feast was held at Kheda Bhagaur village for all the residents Tuesday evening and the left overs were distributed Wednesday.
