Mumbai: BSKB association celebrates Republic day

Mumbai, Feb 1: BSKB Association of Mumbai celebrated country’s Republic Day at Senior citizen’s ‘Ashraya’ at Nerul on Sunday, January 26.

K Subbanna Rao, president of the Sangh, hoisted the flag and set the programme in motion.

The programme in the evening was presided over by former president Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel.  Senior litterateur Dr Vyasarao Ninjoor who has worked as the editor of Sangha’s mouthpiece, monthly magazine ‘Gokulavani’ for more than two decades was felicitated by the president and office bearers with a shawl, fruits and flowers during the programme.

Patriotic songs were sung as part of cultural programme.  Child artistes presented ‘Paritosha’, a Kannada play.  Members held dance programme under the guidance of Sahana Bharadwaj and Prashanth Herle.  Women artistes presented a Yakshagana play titled ‘Sudhanwa Moksha’.  The programme concluded with the national anthem.

Secretary Chandrashekar Bhat gave an introductory speech.  Gururaj Bhat and ShaIini Rao read the certificates.  Chandravathi Rao compered the programme and proposed vote of thanks.
