Designer set to showcase Egyptian art culture at LFW

Mumbai, March 8 (IANS): Designer Karishma Jamwal will showcase a collection inspired by Egyptian and Persian art culture at the forthcoming edition of Lakme Fashion Week summer-resort 2014, starting here March 12.

Her summer collection takes inspiration from the royal and antique Egyptian and Persian designs. It mainly comprises draped dresses, reads a statement.

“I have always been very fond of classic Egyptian art culture. The pyramids and deserts in Egypt exhibit the magnificent art. When blended with the Persian art, it just looks dazzling. The kitschy and bohemian look with the comfort of draped dresses would be the perfect summer mantra this year,” Jamwal said in a statement.

She has used bright colours like yellow and orange and soothing ones like beige, off-white and hues of blue for the line, in which the designer has incorporated old coins and keys as ornamentation and embellishment.
