Eight Iraqi policemen killed in suicide bomb attack


Tehran, April 13 (IANS): At least eight policemen were killed and ten others injured Sunday in a suicide bomb attack in Iraq's Kirkuk Governorate province, a police source said.

The attack occurred early Sunday when a suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden truck into a police checkpoint and blew it up in Debis, a town 35 km northwest of the provincial capital city of Kirkuk, the source told Xinhua.

A police officer and a Kurdish security guard were among those killed and the injured included three civilians, the source said.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
