Tyler once warned Guns N' Roses about drug use

Los Angeles, April 16 (IANS): Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler urged Axl Rose and his Guns N' Roses bandmates to stay away from drug use during the show when the two groups hit the road together in the early 1990s.

The Dream On singer was trying to stay sober and had a summit with Rose, Slash and company just before the dates started, insisting that the backstage area at shows remained always clean, reports contactmusic.com.

He recalled: "I actually got them all together and said, 'If you guys whip something out in the dressing room, I'm gonna wanna use it - and if I do, you're off the tour'."

"It went like that for a minute and then, of course, you can't stop anything,” he added.
