Elated to win National Award: Director Ram


Chennai, April 16 (IANS): Filmmaker Ram is extremely delighted that his Tamil film "Thanga Meengal" bagged three awards at the 61st National awards Wednesday.

"Thanga Meengal" is a heartwarming story about the relationship between a father and his daughter, with special focus on primary school education. It was adjudged the best Tamil film, besides winning best lyrics for Na. Muthu Kumar for the song "Ananda Yaazhai".

"I'm overwhelmed that my film bagged three awards. I would like to thank my producer for believing in me and my story," Ram told IANS.

He's happier for child artist Sadhana, who bagged best child artist award.

"She's the true star of the film. I'm happy that her hard work didn't go in vain," he said.
