Udupi, Apr 26: In a laudable effort aimed at promoting peace and harmony in society, Mohiddin Jumma Masjid and Ansarul Masakeen Youth Association, Athradi, jointly organized a 'Sarvadharma Souharda Sammelana' (All Religion Convention) on Saturday April 26 at Parkala.

Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math was the chief guest.

In his address, Pejawar Swamiji said, "We should make up our minds that we are all Indians and be united. Each of us should believe in the god and have faith that He is always with us. Those who do not believe in god will surely become 'Kafirs' (infidels).”

He said that that there is only one God for the entire Universe. "Sri Madhwacharya found the existence of God 800 years ago. Communal harmony is possible only by building a mutual relationship with every community," said the Pejawar Swamiji.

The Pejawar Swamiji further stated that if both religions take the responsibility of protecting each other, it will lead to a conflict-free society.

Referring to the issue of Ayodhya Temple, he said now that the case has been closed, it should be settled between Hindu and Muslim religious leaders without the interference of any politics.

He also stressed that in order to maintain peace between the two communities, it is essential for  Muslims to stop cow slaughter while Hindus should commit themselves to meet other demands made by Muslims.

Sri Vishweshatheertha concluded by saying that only if both communities maintain a peaceful atmosphere in society will India become a prosperous country, hence all must strive towards this goal.

Alhaj V K Abubakkar Musliyar, Athradi Qazi presided over the programme.

Fr William Martis, director of inter-religious dialogue committee, Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA of Udupi, Haji K Abubakkar, Abdul Samad, president of Ansarul Masaken Youth Association, Athradi, Dr L Ramachandra, surgoen, KMC Manipal, Dr Mehmood Rafiq of Thonse health centre, Hoode, Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor, M Manjunath Upadhyaya, Harish Hegde and others were present on the occasion.

What is done locally ought to be embraced globally. Dialogue is experiencing the other-side. Humanity of fellowship is the solid foundation for social harmony. And that is the essence of every religion in its pure form.

For a peaceful nation, its important to mind one's own business......if the rules of my religion do not permit something, then I should follow the rules and abide by it with all faiths , but I should not force someone else out of my religion, also to follow what my religion says..........if you abide by this ONE golden rule all will be at peace in India.

I welcome people's comments on this point....will come back to this portal to check your views.

The problem is with the politics India has faced all these years . Nation is divided into religion and casts . community development program is developed in the name of religion and cast . Jobs are created in the name of religion and cast . Education is reserved in the name of religion and cast . All the above should be normally available to all citizens on the basis of their needs not their Cast or religion .
i think 70 % of hindus dont have problem in praying in a church, mosque or temple and you will find most Hindus have done it at least once in their life time.

    Dear Swamiji,
I welcome your message. But why you are not talking about uniting Hindus which has been divided on caste basis. please let us know what strong measure did you took to remove the differences among hindus? I'm asking this so politely & painfully with you. If there is any mistake by asking this from my I beg your pardon. I never hate any person on their religion or caste basis but most of the times I hate their wrong deeds. persuade government to bring uniform rule in the land so that everybody treated equal by government by using your power & support from people. First step is to remove the caste / religion column in all government & school application.

Who divided the minds of Hindu / Muslims? Can the head of the religious leaders advise their subordinates not to corrupt the young minds of their community against each other.

Both communities have lived together and will live together. Go to any biz trading centres like old bunder, fish markets, old dockyard, the vendors of both communities live like one family.

Who are the real culprit of dividing of each other.

“Ekam Evadvitiyam” He is only one without a second.”This is narrated in Chandogya Upanishad 6:9. The Brahma Sutra of Hindu Vedanta is Ekam Brahm, dvitiya naste neh na naste kinchan” Bhagwan ek hi hai dusara nahi hai, nahi hai, nahi hai, zara bhi nahi hai”.and Bhagvad Gita 10:3 says, “He who knows Me as the unborn, as the beginning-less, as the Supreme Lord of all the Worlds.” Swamijis statement is very significant in this regards and I appreciate it. AMYMA has done a great job.

Alhamdulillah. At last the seer admitted the basic principle of islam of worshipping one god-Monotheism n rest are all false. Now where is the problem. .It's solved. Pls preach the concept of one god who is universal n all human beings are equal..

Good message for a healthy society. We must understand that we are humans and all are equal in the eyes of god.Difference opinion in the society is normal and crossing 'LAKSHMANA REKHA'by any community will not contribute to health and peaceful coexistence in the society. Under the circumstances prevailing in twin districts ,need more such dialogues and meetings.AMYMA's effort appreciated.

It would better if swamiji puts efforts to patch up between Dvaita and Advaita swamijis such as sankaracharyas...and bring all the factions of hinduism together. This interfaith dialogue is a waste of time...look at the crowd?.Strengthen hinduism first...no need to be apologetic to any other faiths...every faith has full freedom to practice the religion even atheists and communists have a voice in india.Brahmins should open up and have a dialogue with other factions of hinduism....otherwise hinduism will vanish into oblivion.Other faith leaders know to take care of their religion ...no need of advice from Swamiji.Put your house in order before preaching

It is not possible to stop cow slaughter, as cow meat is food for some community. But muslim clerics and organizations have to take initiative to stop illegal cattle trafficking and transporting the cattle in a in human way like 20 cows in one van etc.
Dear Swamiji, please convince the same to Sangha Parivaar people and teach them about love, behavior, brotherhood, etc. Hindus are not problem creators, but sanghis only dividing the society and motivating the people to hate other religion.

It is soothing to hear such words from Swamiji...
    Reality is reality...
There must be reasonable co-existence among religions...
Only then societies can sustain and prosper...
Humanity is greater than any religion...
There is no religion beyond human reach...
    There can be only truth...
    Unseen and unexplored...
