'Game of Thrones' inspires beauty trends in Britain

London, May 5 (IANS): American fantasy drama TV series "Game of Thrones" is back with a new season and it is apparently inspiring beauty trends.

The first episode of the fourth season of the show went on air April 7 and, according to amazon.co.uk, Britain is becoming a nation of platinum blonde, strong-browed women inspired by the show's key character Danaerys Targaeryen, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"As the popularity of 'Game of Thrones' continues, it’s not just the books and DVDs that are performing well. It appears that fans are taking their love of the show to a new level by adopting the hair and make-up looks of their favourite characters,” said Xavier Garambois, vice president of EU Retail at Amazon.

“As surprising as it may seem, this show is ahead of the field when it comes to influencing the beauty trends of 2014," added Garambois.
