Puttur, Jul 21: Finally justice has been done to Sahana Shankari, of course 6 long years after her death.
Sahana's husband Chandramohan and her father-in-law Eshwar Bhat alias 'Sixer' Bhat have been awarded life sentence by district court on Friday July 21.
As reported earlier Sahana was found dead on October 10 2000 in mysterious circumstances. Though it was registered as a suicide case in the beginning, the police had booked a murder case owing to complaint from Sahana's father M S Vaidya.
The police who investigated the case had found Chandramohan, Eshwar Bhat, Sahana's mother-in-law Durgaparameshari and brother-in-law Rajendra guilty in the case. A chargesheet was filed later and the court had taken the case for hearing. After long 6 years of hearing, the court had recently convicted Chandramohan and Eshwar Bhat while Durgaparameshwari and Rajendra were acquitted.
The court pronounced its judgement on Friday which has brought relief to the grieving parents and relatives of Sahana Shankari who had become victim of dowry harassment despite her love marriage to Chandramohan.
