Three killed in Afghanistan attack


Kabul, June 24 (IANS): At least three people were killed Tuesday when Taliban militants attacked a police checkpoint in Afghanistan's Herat province, an official said.

"The attack took place in Obe district bazaar at round 11.30 a. m. At least three militants were involved in the incident. They fired at the checkpoint with AK-47 guns," the official told Xinhua.

The victims included two policemen and a civilian.
