Appi Mutthayya Karkera (97) passes away

Mumbai, July 26: A resident of Kaup Polipu, Appi Mutthayya Karkera(97), wife of late Mutthayya Karkera, mother of Surendra M Karkera, founder of Bipin Football and member of Mumbai Football Committee, passed away at her residence on Thursday July 24 after a brief illness and old age.

She was the sister of Jagannath P Putran, president of Laxminarayana Mandira Madbharatha Mandali in Andheri.


She has left behind four sons, three daughters, friends and relatives. The last rites of the deceased were held at Kaup, her place of
origin. Several important people including those from Kaup Polipu Mogaveera community were present.
