82nd annual meet of Billava community held

Mumbai, July 29: "By inculcating strong moral values, the people belonging to Billava community must walk towards chastity," said L V Ameen. 

L V Ameen who presided over the 82nd annual meeting of the Billava community held at Sri Narayana Guru hall in Santakroj west on Sunday July 24 expressed that the community should unite to fight the injustice prevailing in society. The meeting was organized by the Billava association.


Jaya Suvarna founder president of Billava association inaugurating the convention said, "Billava association established 82 years back is the reflection of the stronghood of the community people. The sect in its early days encountered insults, hardship, penury and injustice which later the community dealt with strongly.  Suvarna, invoking the name of Brahmashri Narayana Guru, expressed that the legend toiled to uplift his people from dire plight and added that the future generation requires to integrate his teachings to lead a moral life. 

Honourary general secreratey Jyoti K Suvarna read out activities of the association. Vice presidents Nitynanda Kotyan, C T Salian Chandrashekar S Poojary and Bhaskar, honarary treasurer Bhaskar V Bangera and many others were present.
