Mumbai, Aug 2: Nagarapanchami was celebrated with gaiety at Mahashesha Suvarna Mandira at Panchakuteera in Povai on Friday August 1.

Nagarapanchami is being celebrated here for the past five and a half decades after establishing Nagabana and a ten headed Naga Deity. The programmes in the morning consisted of Mahaganapathi Pooje Swasti Vachana, Navagraha Homa, Dikpala Homa, Asta Dikpala Bali, Shikhara Kumbhabhishekha, Navaka Pradhana Homa, Panchamratha Abhishekha, Sahasra Narikelabhishekha, Navakalasha Mahabhishekha, Moorthibali of Nagadeva, Nagadarshana and distribution of Theerthaprasada.


The programme held in the evening consisted of Pejavara Mathadeesha Vishweshashreepada and his disciple Vishwaprasanna Theertha Sripada arrived and blessed the devotess. In the programmes held during the day, several important people including businessmen arrived and offered their prayers.

Billavara Association Sevadal workers led by their leader Ganesh K Poojary and Monjinees Association Sevadal struggled to maintain order among devotees. Kshetra leaders Jagadish Suvarna, Santhosh Suvarna, Rahul Suvarna, social workers Keshava Anchan, Ravi Kotian, Sudhakar Poojary and others cooperated in the success of the programme.

Dinesh Kotian Hoode of Kalyanpura and group provided saxaphone music. Ragasangama artistes presented Bhakthi Rasamanjari cultural programme under the direction of Ganesh Ermal.
