Mumbai, Aug 19: Kannada Sanga Santacruz celebrated its 57th annual general body meeting at Santacruz (E) Billava Bavana recently.

President of Kannada Sanga Santacruz L V Amin inagurated the programme by lighting the lamp. In his address he said, "We studied in poverty and have reached heights in life. Meanwhile, the poverty is no more a hindrance to the new generation children as many community associations, social welfare and voluntary organizations are indeed helping the economically weaker students. Kannada Sanga plays a vital role in growth of the nation as equal as the contribution of every citizen."

Advocate B Somanath Amin, Chartered Accountant Prakash Shetty, entrepreneurs Sadanand Sapalya, Jaganath Shetty, Prakash Shetty, Shakila P Shetty, treasurer Ramesh A Shetty, secretary chandrahasa J Suvarna, R P Hegde, B D Suvarna, Narayana S Shetty and others were present during the meeting.

Nithyananda D Kotian, the recently elected president of the prestigious Billava Association Mumbai and general manager of Bharat Co-operative Bank was feliciated during the meeting.

The association also distributed scholarships to the economically weak students.
