Kuwait : Tulu Koota celebrates 14th anniversary in style

Kuwait, Oct 19: Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK), for the 14th year in succession, led by president Tharendra Shettigar, organized " Tulu Parba 2014" on Friday October 17 at American International School, Maidan Hawally, Kuwait from 4:30 pm onwards.

The highlights of the day were ace artist Vilas Nayak, a finalist of Colors channel's 'India’s Got Talent' who created a colourful world within a blink of the eye in a live performance and Tulu comedy drama 'Bangar Babu'. Sudhir Shetty, Chief Operation Officer- Global Operations of UAE Exchange and HE Sunil Jain, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait were the guest of honor.

The program started with formal welcome and report of Tulu Koota Kuwait activities by Compere of the evening Purandara Manchi and Bhavani Madhav followed by traditional lighting of the lamp by president Tharendra Shettigar, Sudhir Shetty, HE Sunil Jain, Advisory committee and managing committee members. A pingari (Flower like product from Areca nut tree) was opened by HE Sunil Jain to mark the tradition of Tulunadu followed by release of souvenir. HE Sunil Jain appreciated TKK for their contribution towards, language, culture and charity.















































































 

After the presidential speech of President Tharendra Shettigar, welcome dance was presented by Nritya Veda Dance School. Vilas Nayak mesmerised the audience with his three paintings of Yakshagana, Bootha vesha and Mother Theresa which was an unique experience to the audience of Kuwait. The quickness, body language and movement of the artist to the music reflecting the drawing was simply superb. His painting of Tiranga during the dance drama 'Sauragini Rashtra' depicting the national integration of India, directed by Suresh Salian was heart touching with a pinch of patriotism. He proved himself as the Asia’s leading speed painting artist for which he has won accolades all over the world. Dance drama 'Dashavatara' which had 10 avatars of Vishnu along with kids of TKK members again directed by Suresh Salian was a visual treat to the audience. Classical dance with perfect coordination by Anjali School of dance was appreciable.

During Felicitation, all the sponsors were felicitated for their contribution to the event. Sudhir Shetty, Ex President Elias Sanctis, TKK Members Wilson D'Souza, Geetha Suvarna and Sanath Shetty were felicitated with Shawl, fruits and Momento in presence of HE Sunil Jain, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait. They also expressed their gratitude towards TKK for honoring them. Sudhir shetty delivered a powerful speech on love towards our country and it's language. He also appreciated the efforts of present Prime Minister and asked everyone to join their hands towards the development of the country. Steevan Misquith Nephew of late John Misquith received posthumous honor on behalf of his uncle who was one of the founder member of TKK. Scholarship and Certificate of Appreciation for Academic Excellence was given to merit students of 10th and 12th standard students who are children of TKK members.

After the Interval, curtain was raised for the long awaited Tulu comedy drama 'Bangar Babu'. The drama with story and screenplay by Arun Chandra, BC Road, directed by Sathish Acharya succeeded in meeting the audience expectation with its rib - tickling comedy, emotions and melodrama. Arun Chandra BC Road was the winner of the best comedian award in 'Bale Thelipaale' comedy competition. His antics left the audience craving for more. Prominent Tulu-Konkani stage actor Nellu Permannur (Nevil Vegas) gave a good justice to his role, displaying his theatrical flair, while celebrated music director Vishwanath Nelyadi provided the music for the drama. The talented TKK artistes Sathish Acharya, Lucy Aranha, Jyothi Suvarna, Mithun Vishvanath, Mahesh Poojari, Sanath Shetty, Rajesh Fernandes, Purandara Manchi, Lionel Rayan, Manoj Bangera, Sanmathi Menda, Ashwini Pinto, and Chandrahas Shetty enacted the drama and entertained the audience with their power packed performances.

The program was well compered by Bhavani Madhav, Purandara Manchi, Reshma Menezes, and Sachidananda Suvarna and co-ordinated by Suresh Salian. The stage was set by Ronald D'Souza Mulki, Sathish Acharya and Manoj Bangera. Sound and lightings were provided by Illuminations/ Anand and make up by Ajay Gosh. Overall the Anual event Tulu Parba was a feast to the eyes of audience with a relief from tensions due to healthy comedy.

    It was amazing program, different, richness, perfect concept specially Dasavatara & Saueagini Rastra. drama was good.

    Really a amazing program for us gulf tuluvas. Its feast to hear tulu in arabic sand.
    Really a inspired speach from Mr. Sudheer Shetty about day todays youg genrations mother tongue hesitations.
    Superb 'Dashavatara' dance & outstanding "National Integartion" dance with background art.
    No words for Vilas Nayaks talent. Nellu & Aruns comedey made us mad to laugh.
    Only one weak point is Anchoring (MC) is not inspired & needs more fluency & flow in tulu basic words like Mr.Naveen Shetty on 'Bale Telipale' in Namma TV.
