Mumbai, Oct 28: Billawa Seva Sangha Kundapur, Mumbai held their General Body Meeting, Cultural festival and Prathibha Puraskar awards presentation at NKES High school hall at Vadala west on Sunday October 26.

In the 26th annual general body meeting held in the morning, newly elected president Manjunath Billava Shiroor, chaired the meeting, lit the traditional lamp and set the meeting in motion.

Everything will proceed smoothly if one says that it is nice to lead the community instead of saying that it is difficult. The members should get the feeling that organizations should be conducive to the welfare of community. The associations will prove to be useful if the members get the feeling that it helps in their needs and identify the downtrodden and talents and support them. Let us strive to fulfill the aim of the organization, he said in his presidential address.

Sangha Vice presidents Sudhakara C Poojary and Sanjiva A Poojary, Joint secretary Laxmana N Poojary Koderi and Bhaskara K Poojary and Joint treasurer Jagannath R Poojary were present. Honorary Chief secretary Soorya S Poojary read previous year's report and activities of the sangha. Honorary treasurer Ashok N Poojary read the income and expenditure statement of the previous year. 16 members were elected for new working committee.

Women's wing executive president Sushila S Poojary led the Arasina Kumkuma programme. Vice presidents Sumathi S Poojary and Rekha N Billava, Secretary Sushila Sheena Poojary, Joint secretaries Sushila Suresh Poojary and Sugandha S Poojary cooperated. Women's wing members and children presented various entertainment, small drama and cultural dance programme as part of cultural programme.

Honorary president Suresh S Poojary presided over the programme held in the evening. Billava Jagruthi Balaga president N T Poojary, Shubada Educational Institute Navunda executive president N K Billava, Businessmen Mahabala Kunder, Govinda B Poojary, Women's wing honorary president Santhoshi S Poojary and Uma M Billava were present on the dais. Talented children were presented awards in the presence of elite persons. Economically backward students were distributed scholarships. All those who provided entertainment were presented mementos.

The service will be useful only when we have far sightedness. When we proceed aiming for pro people community we will be getting unstinting
cooperation. May the sangha grow and provide for the well being of the society like the sun, said Suresh Poojary.

Yuva Abhyudaya Committee executive president Sunder B Poojary, vice presidents Raghavendra N Billava and Sridhara V Poojary, Secretary
Rajashree A Kody, Joint secretary Poornima S Poojary and Nikhita Poojary were present. A comedy farce was shown on the occasion. Women's wing members and children presented different entertainment, small drama and cultural dance programme.

President felicitated well known dramatist and director S Daya. Rajashree Kody, Poornima S Poojary, Nikhita C Poojary and Pradhnya S Poojary led the prayer. Soorya S Poojary welcomed and introduced the guests. President Manjunatha Billava gave an introductory speech. Ashok N Poojary gave information on beneficiaries of scholarships. Nagesh R Billava and Jagannath R Poojary gave details on recipients of
Prathibha Puraskara. Bhaskar K Poojary announced the list of sports winners. Sugandha S Poojary conducted cultural programme and Laxmana S Poojary compered the meeting. Sadananda B Poojary proposed the vote of thanks.
