Voltage fluctuation hits check-in at Mumbai Airport

Mumbai, Nov 2 (IANS): A sudden voltage fluctuation hit the check-in systems of Mumbai International Airport's Terminal IB Sunday afternoon, affecting the operations of around a dozen flights, official sources said.

The voltage fluctuation resulted in automatic shutting down of the servers as a security measure and consequently, the passenger check-in was hit for around 45-50 minutes.

During the shutdown, the airport and airlines staff carried out check-in and other formalities manually, which took extra time, till the systems were restored around 2.30 pm.

Around a dozen flights, mostly domestic, of various private carriers were delayed for a few minutes till the normalcy was restored, the sources said.
