Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (SP)

Mysuru, Nov 26: In a curious incident reported from within the limits of Saraswatipuram police station here, ornaments stolen from a professor were returned, at least in most part, by courier, within three days of the incident.

The professor had kept the ornaments at his home for conducting the marriage ceremony of his daughter,

The returned consignment came with a letter purportedly written by the father of one of the thieves. The letter, writer of which has remained anonymous, seeks apology from the professor, and asks him to withdraw the police complaint registered in the police station, in the interests of the future of his son.

The man also has promised to return remaining ornaments within the next three months.

Theft of ornaments worth about eight lac rupees had occurred in the house of Prof Nanjundaswamy, resident of first cross, T K Layout, Krishnamurty Extension in the city. Nanjundaswamy is a professor in JSS Polytechnic for physically disabled. The courier incident occurred when the case was under investigation, but came to light with a delay of several days.

Nanjundaswamy could perform the marriage of his daughter without hiccups, as nearly 90 percent of ornaments were returned within three days of theft, well before the wedding day.

The police on their part, have strong suspicion about the involvement of three childhood friends of the professor's son. Chandan, son of Nanjundaswamy, happens to be working as software engineer for a multinational company in Bengaluru. Two out of his three friends are medical students in Hassan and Sullia, while the other is pursuing diploma course. The police have taken into custody and questioned all of them, but are yet to say whether they have found any of them guilty.

It is a nice honourable gest of a worried father to return back the juwellary without Holding back any. That means his son must be in a poor condition or in studies or good Job which might be in danger when theft comesout .sure the father is sorry for his sons deeds ,but if son also is sorry ?is the question.when yes he deserves a second Chance.Let him give achance to be a good man and promise not to do such crimes in future.since no one knows who he is,can be accepted.otherwise father too will be heartbroken.Good to have a caring father.lucky son.

Hats off to the father for his noble deeds. Apologizing for others mistake is a great virtue. His this deed may open the eyes of his thief son to be a good citizen in future. Great is the love of this father towards his son.

Such a good gesture should not be considered to show some leniency towards the legal action due. Every crime needs to be punished as a deterrent for others to learn.

Please do not equate this caring father with a looter politician.
There is some regret and repentance
from the father for the deed of his son. give credit where it is due. if he had not returned the valuables, the marriage would have been in jeopardy. Is it not?
