Shiv Sena holds Mumbai, Maharashtra together: Uddhav

Mumbai, Jan 6 (PTI): Asserting his commitment on keeping Mumbai a part of Maharashtra, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray today said nobody has the "courage" to separate the city from the state.

"If there had been no Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, Mumbai would not have been a part of Maharashtra. The state would have been broken apart long back. But today, nobody has the courage to take away the city from the state," he said, addressing a gathering here on the sidelines of the launch of a Marathi film 'BalKadu'.

Thackeray said that his party is a "thought" that is embedded in the minds of people, and without which the state would become unstable.

"What will happen to Maharashtra without Shiv Sena? If there is no Sena, the state will become unstable. People of the state have to stay together and hold the saffron flag high," Thackeray said.

    Pathare prabhu, kolis are original inhabitants of the Mumbai.During the British rule in Bombay provenience the districts of dharaward belguam hubli and part of karwar was included.included. Knnadigas from these districts were holding big post, including judges of the high court. After the division of states by linguistic way in the year 1960 Mumbai was capital of Maharashtra.Paris were migrated to city from Persian gulf during 1st and second world time.east Indian catholics are from vasai taluk and thane districts later migrated to Mumbai.Now Mumbai belongs to Maharashtra and India all indian are living here.Urgent necessity of the time is to improve the city and its development. Our politicians should see this in right direction and not to talk of separate the city.

    The last arrivers to bombay were marathi manoos. kolis, parsis, konkanis,catholics, portuguese, kannadis were there long back itself. Kannada was one of the only 4 official langs of bombay during british rule and printed on east india company 100 rupee notes.
