Puttur, Jan 9: One of the injured in lorry and jeep accident at Perne near Nelyadi here succumbed to injuries in hospital on Monday January 8 evening. With this the total number of deceased in the accident has gone upto 5.
Fousia (19), daughter of Monu of Dontila Pattemane near Koukradi near here had sustained serious injuries in the accident. She was admitted to a private hospital at Mangalore. However, he succumbed to injuries without responding to treatment on Monday. While her brother Aziz had died on the spot, her sister Zeenath who too has sustained critical injuries is fighting for life in the hospital.
As reported earlier a manganese ore lorry had rammed collided with a jeep carrying wedding a party. As a result 4 persons had died on the spot another 16 had sustained injuries. Out of them 6 including Fousia were admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore with critical injuries.
