Udupi: Cyclist killed in accident at Koppalangady

Udupi, Feb 16: A man died on the spot after his bicycle hit against a KSRTC bus on NH-66 at Koppalangady under Kaup police station limits here on Monday February 16.

The deceased has been identified as Gangadhar (32) from Badami.

It is said that Gangadhar was crossing the road at Koppalangady on his bicycle, when KSRTC bus passed by. Gangadhar's bicycle rammed into the rear end of the bus and he was killed on the spot.

The bus was plying from Udupi to Bengaluru.

Gangadhar was a coolie worker from Badami. He was staying in a house at Koppalangady.

Kaup police arrived at the spot and registered a case.

    Miracle.. bus passengers saved,by this cyclists rear end collision...hhhhhhh.Then why should KSRTC driver should be blamed for ths accident?.

    These are daily occurrences. Unless the police come down heavily on the erring drivers, this trend will continue.

    As far as the City is concerned, private car owners are concerned, very often they are jammed between speeding buses and the autos overtaking from the left.
