Karkala, Feb 17: A police team led by ASP Labu Ram has seized pirated CDs worth Rs 10 lac from various video and CD libraries here on Friday February 16.

The police team raided various CD libraries in the town including Movie Planet, Lakshmi Ganesh, Shenoy Video etc.  The police seized huge numbers of pirated CDs from these shops.  Sources said that the total value of these CDs may cross even Rs 10 lac.

The police have arrested 5 persons in this regard.  The raid was carried out after some of the leading CD companies filed a complaint with the police under Section 52, 63 and 68 of 1957 Copyright Act.
