Mangalore, Feb 17: In a shocking incident, a woman was cheated with hopes of being provided a job in Maldives, only to land up in a massage parlour there.

According to a complaint lodged at the Pandeshwar police station by Maria Veigas of Kottara here, in April 2006, Maria was promised a physiotherapy job with a pay packet of 500 dollars in Maldives by one Sarina Hogard. But when she landed in Maldives, she found herself amidst men in an ordinary massage centre.

When she attempted to complain, she was threatened through telephone calls. After long and hard efforts, she has finally managed to land in city.

A case has been filed against Sarina Hogard.
