Jayant was addicted to alcohol and used to beat up his wife and children almost everyday.  Even on Friday he came home drunk and picked up quarrel with his wife Nalini and started beating her up.

At this point Dilip went to the rescue of his mother.  But he too was beaten up and pushed down on the ground.  Enraged and disgusted by this Dilip picked up a wooden club and hit Jayant on the head.  Immediately Jayant collapsed on the ground in a pool of blood.  Meanwhile Dilip realized his mistake and fled to his grandmother's house.

Nalini who was in a total shock shouted for help.  Hearing her shout for help neighbours came and admitted Jayant to a private hospital.  But the doctors there asked him to undergo surgery.  But owing to lack of money he was shifted to Wenlock Hospital where he breathed his last on Saturday February 17 morning.
