Mangalore, Feb 19: The annual Vandana Awards instituted jointly by the Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangalore City will be presented on Thursday February 22 at Kudla Courts, Balmatta here at 8 pm.

A press release stated that the awards will be conferred on Dr B M Hegde (medicine), Dr N R Shetty (engineering), M N Rajendra Kumar (banking), Dr Amritha Someshwar (literature), Ramakrishna (journalism) and Harekala Hajabba (social service).

Deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao will be the chief guest while awards committee chairman Rtn PHF Dr Devdas Rai will preside.

Rotary Club Mangalore Central president Rtn Chandrahas Adyanthaya and Rotaract Club Mangalore City president Rtr Subramanya Salian are expected to be present on the occasion, the release stated.
