Bhatkal: One killed, several injured in car - tempo collision

Bhatkal, Apr 22: One person was killed and more than 10 were injured when a Swift car collided with a tempo on national highway 66 at Murdeshwar on Wednesday, April 22 evening.

It is reported that the City Ride tempo van was going to a marriage function from Shirali to Bailur and the Swift car was on its way towards Murdeshwer.












Nagesh Venketesh Naik (26) from Chitrapur Shirali was killed on the spot. Nagesh was taking guests to his cousin's marriage place which was scheduled to take place tomorrow.

Some sources said that the Swift car was going to Mysuru from Ankola and was travelling at a high speed. During the overtake the car came in front of the tempo and the driver of the tempo suddenly braked and in the process, the tempo overturned.

Two seriously injured persons from swift car were taken to Kundapur and Manipal hospitals after initial treatment at R N S hospital in Murdeshwer.

7 persons from the tempo, out of the 25 travelling,  have been admitted in Murdehwer R.N.S hospital.

A case has been registered at Murdeshwer police station with further investigations going on.
