London, May 8 (IANS): David Cameron, who returned as Britain's prime minister after his Conservative Party secured majority in the House of Commons after the British general elections, said on Friday that he will lead a government for “one nation”.
Speaking outside No.10 Downing Street after visiting Buckingham Palace, Cameron said he will lead a government for "one nation" and make "Great Britain greater", BBC reported.
Britain was “on the brink of something special”, he added.
The Conservatives won 330 seats, four more than the magic figure of 326 for a majority in the 650-member House of Commons.
Cameron said he would reach out to all parts of Britain and strive to "bring the country together" in the wake of the Scottish National Party's sweep in Scotland where it won 56 of the 59 seats.
