Mangalore, Mar 29: On Wednesday, the Mangalore City Corporation tabled a surplus budget for the year 2006-07. No new taxes were included in the new budged which showed from income sources revenue of Rs 7,384 lac and expenses of Rs 7,323 lac, leaving a surplus of Rs 10.75 lac.

Chairman of the Finance Committee Gilbert Pinto placed the budget with a revenue of Rs 7,384 lac summing water cess of Rs 1550 lac, house tax of Rs 925 lac, business license at Rs 110 lac, under ground drainage development tax at Rs 200 lac, Rs 249 from markets and Rs 55 lac from advertisements.

Pinto said that government had given the clearance and promised to pay Rs 40 crore for the vented dam project.
