Bangalore, Mar 29: The Karnataka Government has opposed the anticipatory bail application of B.V. Seetharam and his wife, Rohini, saying they are writers, editors, printers, publishers and distributors of Kannada dailies Karavali Ale, Sanje Ale and Kannada Janataranga and that these newspapers were a platform for political write-ups.

It said the petitioners had made vague allegations against the State and had not furnished all the details in their petition. This, it said, is sufficient for dismissal of the petitionIt argued that the petition is not maintainable as both Mr. Seetharam and his wife are already arrested, detained in custody and subsequently enlarged on bail in criminal cases registered with the Sagar Town police station.
