Madanthyar, Apr 2: The values of life should be taught to children along with the formal education for their prosperous and successful future, said Mangalore Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza.

He was speaking after inaugurating the new building of Sacred Heart English Medium School at Madanthyar near here on Friday, built at a cost of Rs 53 lakh.

Education in English medium has become inevitable in the recent years, the Bishop observed and advised the teachers to mould good citizens for the country having moral responsibilities.

The progress of the society is possible only through qualitative education, he noted. Catholic Education Board Secretary Fr Wilson D’Souza, Belthangady Block Education Officer K L Manjula, Priest Fr Charles Noronha, Fr Herald Mascarenhas, Gerald D’Souza, Madantyar Gram Panchayat President M Sanjiv Shetty and Vidyadhar Kubanuraya were present.
