Mangalore, Apr 2: The annual special Way of the Cross at Blessed Joseph Vaz shrine at Mudipu was held on Sunday April 1 evening.

The Way of the Cross on the first day of Holy Week was a fitting way to prepare for entire week for devotees.

Fr Pradeep Correa, parish priest of Bola helped the hundreds of devotees to prepare for the Way of the Cross.  After the spiritual preparation Fr Reginald Pinto, parish priest of Eliarpadavu led the Way of the Cross which began in Mudipu Church and was wound up at Blessed Joseph Vaz shrine on Mudipu hills.

The theme of the Way of the Cross was "Let us Walk our Way of the Cross alongside Jesus."  The Way of the Cross began at 3.30 pm and ended by 5.30 pm.

Later the Sacrament of Reconciliation (confessions) was administered to the gathered devotees in the Shrine.

Deacon Lancy Saldanha led the para-liturgical celebration of Adoration after the confession.  Mudipu parish priest Fr Andrew D'Souza too was present for the Way of the Cross.
