Udupi, Apr 2: Bhartiya Janatha Party will begin its Vikasa Yatra from Monday April 9 onwards.  More than 25,000 party members will meet the local people personally during this Yatra.

This was announced in a press meet by BJP state president D V Sadhananda Gowda, here on Sunday April 1. 

He further said that the party will take up the Vikas Yatra almost in all the districts of the state. The valedictory of the Yatra will be held here on Thursday April 24 in which former deputy Prime Minister L K Advani will participate.

He also said that the party will organize Jan Jagruti Samitis, a sort of awareness and vigilant committee at the village-level, to ensure the smooth implementation of the ban on lottery and to check illicit liquor and Matka (gambling) trades.

Expressing about his views on setting up Nagarjuna Power Plant at Nandikur near Padubidri here he said that if the project is proved to harmful to marine life, people and environment, party would oppose its implementation.
