Five doctors killed in a road accident in Nashik


Nashik, May 18 (PTI): Five doctors were killed and another one was injured when a car in which they were travelling collided with an unidentified vehicle at Kokangaon roundabout, police said on Monday.

The mishap occurred late last night on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway, about 30 km from here when the six doctors were returning to Pimpalgaon-Baswant from Nashik after attending a programme, Ojhar police station in-charge P N Medhe said.

The deceased have been identified as Sanjay Tiwari (45), Pratap Shelke (47) Chandrashekhar Gangurde (47), Kundan Jadhav (38) and Suraj Patil (39), all hailing from Pimpalgaon-Basawant, Medhe added.

The injured Umesh Bhosale has been admitted to a private hospital here, the officer said.

A search has been launched to trace the unidentified vehicle, police said.
