Mangalore, Apr 4: Protesting against the proposal of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to acquire land and structures belonging to the Kadri Bhagvan Shri Babbuswami, the temple administration on Tuesday declared that an agitation would be lead.

Convenor of the temple Srinivas Kadri on Tuesday told reporters that half of the property of the temple would be acquired for widening the road. The place of worship is located on the National Highway 17 at Nantoor Padav and was built in 1945.

“Although there is enough land on the other side, the NHAI is keen on acquiring the land of the temple, Srinivas said.

Nagesh Karkera, president Temple committee, Ravindra N secretary were present on the occasion.
