Mangalore, Apr 18: At a discussion on ADB sponsored works held on Tuesday April 17,
MCC corporators expressed their resent over the delay in the completion of various ADB funded developmental works undertaken by KUDCEMP. The discussion was held under the chairmanship of mayor Vijaya Arun.

Corporator B Vishwanath said that the National Highway 48 which is dug up, has drains filled with mud, and rainwater which clogs in these drains cause inconvenience to the people. Though a complaint had been submitted fifteen days ago, the problem had not yet been addressed, he said.

Shankar Bhat, leader of the opposition in the corporation, said that KUDCEMP should not take up any new project until all the ongoing projects are complete.

Discussion on connecting underground drainage pipelines from one ward to another, led to heated discussion among corporators Mariamma Thomas, Diwakar and Shashidhar Hegde.

Mayor Vijaya Arun said that she would convene a special meeting of the senior officers to discuss issues related to land acquisition, water distribution and other aspects of KUDCEMP.  She also said that she would issue a memo to the commissioner for absenting himself from the meeting.
