Udupi, Apr 18: Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraj has urged the people of the city to get new water connection from the Swarna Second Stage scheme.
Addressing the press persons here recently he said that houses which do not have the connection of Swarna Second Stage water supply could apply for it. He also said that a survey has been conducted through city which has revealed that 60% of water sources in the city were contaminated. “So it is better that the people apply for connection of Swarna second Stage scheme. They should also get their water metres repaired, as almost 90% of them are not working properly,” he added.
Deputy Commissioner who is also the administrator of the Udupi City Municipality wants all the buildings to comply with all by-laws.
