Udupi, Apr 19: State fisheries minister B Nagaraj Shetty visited Hejamadi port and other areas along the Kaup shore which have been affected by sea erosion on Wednesday April 18.
Later, speaking with press persons he said that state government has reserved Rs 7 crore for developing the ports. By using this money de-silting of the ports will be done and stones to be laid along the shore where the risk of sea erosion is high.
Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, district fisheries forum convener Vijay Karkera, officers V K Shetty, Suresh Kumar, Harish Kumar, Parshwanath, Hejamadi GP president Sudhakar Karkera were present on the occasion.
