Mangalore, Apr 19:  The BJP-JD (S) coalition government which is ruling the state has failed in all spheres completely.  It is sad to note that they have misappropriated funds allotted to the purchase of bicycles for high school girls in the district, alleged Bondala Jagannath Shetty, president of district youth Congress.

Speaking to the reporters recently he accused that deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa and education minister Basavaraj Horatti were involved in corruption.  “The government had purchased 1, 75,558 bicycles to distribute to the eighth standard girls who are below the poverty line at the rate of Rs 2,030 per bicycle.  But the actual cost of each bicycle is somewhere between Rs 1,400 to Rs 1,600.  This way the government has misappropriated almost Rs 18 crore to Rs 20 crore under this scheme,” he said.

He further said that a protest in this regard would be staged on Friday April 20.
