Mangalore, Apr 19: Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka (R) will honour Konkani institutions and achieves who have contributed towards bringing Konkani in schools.  In this regard a special function has been organized at St Aloysius Auditorium on Saturday April 21 evening.

A press release by Konkani Bhasha Mandal stated that it is owing to the efforts of many persons and institutions that a long-cherished dream of introducing Konkani in schools has been realized.

Vicar general of Mangalore diocese Msgr Fred V Pereira will preside over the function while MLA N Yogish Bhat will grace the occasion as chieg guest.

K K Pai president of Dr TMA Pai Foundation, Msgr Alexander D'Souza, former president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, Fr Mark Walder, former editor of Raknno Weekly, Basti Vaman Shenoy, president of Konkani Language and Culture Foundation, Paul Moras, president of All-India Konkani Parishad, Eric Ozario, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and Dr Moham Pai, secretary of Karnataka state Konkani Minority Institutions' Association will be hounoured on the occasion for their contribution towards this cause.

Along with them prime Konkani institutions such as Dr TMA Pai, Konkani Association of St Aloysius College, Raknno Konkani Weekly, Catholic Board of Education, Canara High School Association and Karnataka state Konkani Minority Institutions' Association too will be honoured for their untiring efforts to bring Konkani to schools.
