Mangalore, Apr 20: Subsidized gas supply in the district is being misused as a result of which there has been a delay in supply of LPG cylinders.

In view of this, the district administration has taken several steps to prevent the misuse of the LPG cylinders. Every consumer is required to produce ration card or temporary card issued by the food and civil supplies department while registering for refilling of the empty cylinders. June 30 is the last date to produce the ration card or the temporary coupon for a seal.

Also, the gas cylinders should be transported by authorized vehicles only.

Domestic and commercial cylinders should not be used for running vehicles. Auto LPGs are available in various centers in the city, where vehicle owners can obtain cylinders on producing necessary documents.

Cylinders for vehicles will be made available only after the owner’s name is registered, failing which the owner will be liable under the Motor Vehicles Act.
