Beltangady, Apr 20: St Lawrence Church was inaugurated here on Wednesday April 18.
Pedro Lapez Kwinthan the Vatican representative in India inaugurated the church. Speaking on the occasion, he said that churches should guide people to lead a life of love, trust, peace and harmony.
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade speaking on the occasion lauded the Christian community for promoting the values of love, charity, truth and service to society.
Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandes, administrative reforms commission chairman M Veerappa Moily, Archbishop Dr Bernard Moraas and Mangalore Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza were also present at the ceremony.
