Dubai: United Brahmavarites re-elects Jeevan Sequeira as president

Dubai, Jun 19: United Brahmavarites, a premier forum and prime factor uniting the Brahmavarites working and residing in UAE, has acknowledged the high spirited leadership of Jeevan Sequeira by electing him as its president for the third term in succession.

The election to pick the new committee for the year 2015 was held during the recent annual general body meeting at Naveen Sequeira's residence.

Young and energetic Jeevan Sequeira, a well-known face among various communities and social circles in the UAE was unanimously elected the president of United Brahmavarites, for the third term.

Along with him, the other office-bearers of the executive committee too have been re-elected to lead United Brahmavarites.

United Brahmvarites has been in the forefront of fostering unity and promoting community service by channeling the energies of its members through various activities and programmes in the last four years.

Naveen Sequeira gave a brief idea about the process of election and the responsibilities of each post before the start of the elections.

Members of the United Brahmavarites unanimously agreed that current president and other office-bearers must continue for the third term considering their dedication, contribution, near completion goals and uninterrupted service to the group.

Accordingly Jeevan Sequeira was re-elected along with the executive committee, Nithasha Banz was elected as joint secretary in place of Roshini Menezes, and Rupert D'Almeida and Shekar as treasurers in place of Prakash Sequeira and Stany D'Souza.

Newly-elected president Jeevan Sequeira is serving in the accounts department at group of companies for many years and is well-known in social circles for his committed service to various communities of Karnataka in UAE. He had been active leader in the youth movement back home in Brahmavar and had even served as the president of ICYM Brahmavar. During his college days he was also the senate representative.

It is under his able leadership that United Brahmavarites have been presenting their yearly cultural programme 'Unity Fiesta' since October 2012.

After being re-elected as the president, Jeevan thanked all the members for extending their support and contributions for the past years and sought the same cooperation of all the members in realising the purpose of forming United Brahmavarites. Jeevan also appreciated the contributions made by out going joint secretary Roshini Menezes and treasurers Prakash Sequeira and Stany D'Souza.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by secretary Philomena D'Costa.
