Udupi, May 26: One person was killed after a private bus hit a mobike at Karavali by-pass here on Friday May 25 evening.
The deceased has been identified as rider Sankappa, a resident of Koppalathota near Malpe here. He was on his way back when a private bus driven recklessly knocked him down. As a result of the accident, Sankappa sustained critical injuries and was admitted to KMC Hospital at Manipal. But he succumbed to injuries later in the hospital.
His wife had passed away a couple of years ago owing to cancer. He has two children who are studying LKG and class fourth. Sankappa was working in an ice plant here.
