Mangalore, May 28: 'Pinjrea Iskol', Konkani translation of famous Kannada play 'Pinjara Shale' will be staged at Katipalla Church hall here on Sunday June 3.
The play will be staged by Mandd Sobhann's children's theatre troupe that comprises of 25 children. These children are trained by Mandd Sobhann. The play was first staged in Kalaangann and thereafter 4 more shows of the same play have been staged.
The Katipalla show on Sunday is sponsored by Fr John Fernandes, chairman of 'Chair in Christianity' of Mangalore University and convener of 'Social Justice Forum.'
The play is base on a short story by the great poet Ravidranath Tagore, dramatized by the late B V Karanth in Kannada, translated to Konkani by Rony Crasta Kelarai. Ivan D'Silva has directed the play.
