Mangalore, May 28: Fate came a killer for two bike-riders at Kollya off Ullal on the outskirts of the city early afternoon on Monday, May 28, as an uprooted tree fell right over them, just as they were passing by.

Both were killed on the spot. They have been identified as Ansar (23) and Umar (16), said to be residents of Hosangady railway junction area.

The first signs of monsoons were marked by heavy gales and rainfall. The heavy winds are said to have resulted in the uprooting of the tree.
