Mangalore, May 29: As the monsoon is entering the coastal region, DK is expected to get heavy rains within Thursday May 31.

According to a press release from the deputy commissioner, the meteorology department has indicated this in its weather forecast.

The district has already received 557.2 mm rain since the beginning of monsoon. However, during same duration last year, it was 1,528.2 mm.

Following are the details of rain received in different taluks, the statistics given in the brackets are of the last year:

Mangalore 13.2 (401.8) mm, Bantwal 28.8 (349.4) mm, Beltangady 9.1(148.6) mm, Puttur 24.8 (227.8) mm and Sullia 9.8 (348.6) mm.
