Mangalore, May 30: Activists of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike staged a rally at Kasargod district on Tuesday May 29, demanding the merger of Kasargod with Karnataka.

The activists first reached Talapady (Kerala border) through vehicles and proceeded to Kasaragod by foot. They also displayed the flag of Karnataka there and urged the implementation of Mahajan report which directed the merger of Kasaragod with Karnataka.

Tight police security was arranged at Talapady border by the Kasargod district police authorities. Despite the high security, an incident of stone pelting occurred at the spot. National Highway 17 was blocked for hours, owing to the rally.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike leaders Shivaramegowda, Praveenkumar Shetty, Prasannakumar Shetty, J Santhosh Kumar and others led the rally.

    This KRV is a band of selfish, horrible language fundamentalist people.They do not know the fact that over 75% of population of Kasaragod are Malayalees.
