Mangalore, May 30: CPI (M) is well on its way to project itself as a strong contender for the Ullal elections, said CPI (M) district committee secretary K R Shriyan here on Tuesday May 30.

Addressing a press meet, he said that CPI has been pretending to reign in the elections but it is not so. He requested the people not to listen to the words that the CPI says and termed CPIs promises as an eyewash. "They do not have any base here but are claiming that they would support Congress.  They are bluffing both the Congress and the voters," he opined.

He further pointed out that CPI (M) has come to power in Kerala, West Bengal and Tripura by defeating the Congress.

Shriyan said it is to stop the BJP from coming in to power in the state that CPI (M) had supported Congress UPA government. So the voters should not get confused and vote for the CPI (M) candidate J Balakrishna Shetty, he said.
