Mangalore, May 30: Two Congress activists were injured when police resorted to caning to disperse the crowd at Mastikatte near Ullal on Wednesday May 30.

The injured have been identified as Ashraf and Rangaswami.

Sources said that, Congress activists were performing an orchestra at Mastikatte junction. Police told the activists to leave the place and to stop orchestra. But the activists showed resistance and did not clear the place. Hence, the police resorted to mild caning to disperse them.

The Congress activists blamed that, JD (S) leaders used police power to stop them from campaigning for Congress.
